When I am out purchasing items for my business I can quickly take photos of receipts and upload via the app and not have to worry if I lose or damage a receipt. Hubdoc also allows Bookkeeping for Veterinarians me to get all my invoices, payments and statements to my bookkeeper very easily which saves me money and time. I only use Hubdoc for business purposes which is where I feel it is most suitable. I probably wouldn’t use it for personal stuff as I don’t track personal that strictly. Receipt management for company paid cards and reimbursable employee expenses is lacking. Hubdoc doesn’t read the receipts to determine which card was used and automatically allocate that receipt to X employee.
Great experience with document sharing and downloading
We originally set up this service to manage our financial documents linked to Quickbooks. Its a great system that will go and fetch your documents and bills from different companies. I really like how the setup is easy and the integration with QuickBooks Online is smooth.
Relatively simple to use, having slight difficulty separating mine and my clients’ accounts
I use Hubdoc to setup new clients so we can view their bank statements and check images in one place. I like that we can pull statements and docs easily from Hubdoc if needed. I love the ease of use and time that it saves me in entering petty cash receipts, bills and invoices.

Great tool for automatically pulling, scanning, and inputting simple invoices and keeping records.
Adding new accounts requires a dummy email address, which is strange. More complex bills need quite a lot of manual input, hubdoc reviews especially with CIS and multicurrency. When it doesn’t recognise something it doesn’t tell you why, it just comes up with an icon. You can’t copy and paste data from the PDF into the data fields.

That said, it is a change in process and for some clients, this can be very challenging. It is only as good as the data input and the client/accountant’s dedication to the process. We also integrated their scanner functionality into a custom mobile app that fed straight into the Hubdoc system with document notes via metadata tags.
